Founder & President

Genevieve Thomas founded Awakened Alternatives Enterprises, Inc. more than ten years ago in the basement of her home. Through her visionary leadership and faith in God, the company prospered. It has grown from a small operation with less than ten employees to a multi-million dollar organization employing more than a hundred employees.

Mrs. Thomas has more than 25 years of comprehensive nursing and clinical management experience. Throughout her esteemed career she has held numerous supervisory, management and administrative positions in public, private and managed care settings.

In addition to being an active member and leader in her church, Mrs. Thomas has served on the boards of Rising Star, Inc. and the Ada S. McKinley Social Services - Center for Living & Learning. She also actively mentors other entrepreneurs who share her commitment to conducting business in a fair and ethical manner.

Mrs. Thomas received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and a Masters of Science in Community Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing Administration from Hampton University.
